(Start quote) “Some elements of facial expressions are obvious - when a person feels sad the corners of the mouth turn down, but if they're trying to conceal their distress their eyelids droop and there can be a lack of brightness in the eyes, which you might have ascribed to boredom or sleepiness. The face for disgust can be hard to distinguish from anger, but the wrinkles at the side of the nose give it away. The nostrils narrow, the upper lip rises, the lower lip lifts and protrudes slightly, the cheeks rise, and the brows come down together creating crow's feet around the eyes.” (End Quote)."
- taken from an article in The Guardian by Claudia Hammond. Think about each time you hear something bizarre or crazy… mostly the WTF response? It shows in your face. You don’t necessarily hit your buddy next to you because of what you heard first; most times your first reaction is to express your feeling for what just happened through your facial expression. But, of course, we don’t always want others to know what we are feeling. So, we’ve all developed these ‘masks’. Maybe that’s why Anons are so cool? They just wear a smile all the time… in their mask. However, behind it many are like spitting snakes, crying for injustice and a world gone bad, furious with the many wrong-doings and rightfully so. So, if we want to release our negative energy, we have to ultimately let it go through our facial expressions, not necessarily only through our thoughts or physical bodily actions. It’s only the facial muscles that seem to mysteriously hold the key to ultimate release. Sounds bizarre but try it out and see what you think. To confirm a little of what’s been said, I found this piece about face-mapping that shows which areas of the face speak for which parts of the body. I urge you to follow this link and learn more about it. Other than that, it can be more simply stated. The areas around the eyes represent our liver. The functions of the liver can be likened to how we receive and process information. It relates to our mind, our ability to reason, intellect and imagination. How we digest everyday information determines how we feel emotionally. Through the area of the eyes we therefore process various ideas and feelings, good or bad, by screening ideas to see if they fit into our idea of reality. Like the liver can prevent bad toxins from entering our bloodstream, so our eyes decide what’s good and bad. When you’ve seen too much bad, the area around your eyes will need release. The nose is known to represent the heart. Your heart is what keeps you alive. If you were an animal living in the wild, it’s more than likely that your nose is what would keep you alive out there. In other words, we know when we are ‘smelling a rat’ or if ‘life is offering strawberries and cream’. You rely on your heart to make emotional decisions, just as many animals rely on their sense of smell for survival. When we’re happy our noses are clear, we enjoy taking in the fresh good air. When things are unfamiliar or not so great we tend to scrunch it up, blocking any unknown aromas, the same way we block our hearts from the unfamiliar and that which is daunting. The area around and inside the mouth represents your digestive system; plainly your ability to digest information, let go, use what is good for you and discard the rest, or hold on forever. The lips represent our sensuality and sexuality. This is perhaps one of the most sensitive issues among all humans. Some choose to combine their sensuality with their passion for life, love, for their children and even their sexual experiences, whereas others choose to separate the two, relying only on sexuality to feel sensual. This is perhaps one of the biggest problems. I’m doubtful that sensuality and sexuality were ever really meant to be separated. Think of a woman breastfeeding a child, but then think of a man running his hand over her breast; both are highly sensual, but only one leads to sex. Perhaps this is why some mothers cannot breastfeed. Could it be they are afraid of their own feelings? Also, those who believe sex will heal everything are often very lonely, yearning for their mothers or fathers, that sensual touch that came from them through their embrace and caressing when they were just children. So, perhaps sensuality and sexuality are meant to be one in the same? Maybe all emphasis on the importance of sex alone is a misconception; perhaps the concept has been abused to confuse the masses? After all, the sole purpose of sex initially was only to procreate, whereas sensuality encompasses all feelings relating to the senses. I suppose that’s the difference between f*cking and making love. And there you have it. Energy is stored in the face; mental energy that can be released by simply allowing ourselves to express what we really feel through our honest facial expressions. This strengthens the idea that if we are to release any form of destructive mental energy, energy that is activated by our thoughts which have come about through hearing bad things said or seeing horrible things happen, we should allow this energy to be released in the way it was intended for release, through expression.
